PRIVATE INSTRUCTION (NO PREREQUISITES)

Private Weapons Instruction

Colorado Shooting Sports offers Private Weapons Instruction.  Each private session is divided into 6 classes, each 2 hours long, held once a week for six weeks. At the students' request, we can expand the one-on-one instruction to include up to 4 students at a time.  Every session includes in-depth tactical pistol instruction with knife fighting and combat components as well.

As an added bonus, all private students will also receive the following:

-$100 off any pistol purchase

 CCW COURSES (NO PREREQUISITES)

Concealed Carry Tactical Pistol

This 8 hour pistol course exceeds the requirements for concealed carry training to include legal issues, mind set, clearing malfunctions, speed-shooting, close defensive firing, tactical weapons handling, and one-handed weapons manipulation.  Class begins promptly at 8am, please be here and ready to go a few minutes before to get the most out of your class.  For more information, please see ourTraining FAQ page.

Tactical Revolver

MEDICAL COURSES (NO PREREQUISITES)

Tactical Medical

This 4 hour tactical medical course covers how to collect vital signs, assess the patient for multiple injuries including burns and various types of head injuries.  We dicuss how to deal with blood loss, shock and how to address these issues in an environment that has minimal medical resources.  Use of tourniquets, wound packing material, needles for chest decompression, and artificial airways are addressed in the practical exercises that simulate a non-permissive and potentially unsafe situation.  Class will begin promptly at 12pm, please arrive a few minutes early ready to go in order to get the most out of your class. 

 

ADVANCED COURSES  (Completion of Concealed Carry Tactical Pistol Required)

Advanced Tactical Pistol

This 8 hour course provides classroom and hands on instruction including advanced malfunction clearing, speed shooting, defensive firing, tactical weapon handling, high stress SWAT shooting, and one-handed weapon manipulation.  Also included are team tactics and cultivation of a warrior mindset.  Class begins promptly at 8am, please be here and ready to go a few minutes before to get the most out of your class.

Tactical Rifle

This 8 hour Tactical Rifle course covers safety, mindset, tactics, gunfight dynamics, use of force, external and terminal ballistics, nomenclature, marksmanship, weapon handling, using cover and concealment, movement, and team tactics.  Class begins promptly at 8am, please be here and ready to go a few minutes before to get the most out of your class.

Tactical Shotgun

This 8 hour course provides classroom and hands on instruction including advanced malfunction clearing, speed shooting, defensive firing, tactical weapon handling, high stress SWAT shooting, one handed weapon manipulation, team tactics, and cultivation of a warrior mindset.  Class begins promptly at 8am, please be here and ready to go a few minutes before to get the most out of your class.

Close Quarters Battle

Concealed Carry Tactical Pistol is a prerequisites for this course.  This is an exciting 8-9 hour course of instruction in close quarters battle concepts, principles and tactics including: cornering, door entry, window entry, hallway procedures, tactical communitcations, room entries, hasty assault, dynamic entry, team tactics, and weapon transitions.  This course is for the individual who has truly gone beyond the defensive mindset and into the proactive and aggressive individual who takes the fight to the adversary.  The fun factor of this class is not in doubt.  We will allow only those who have taken our required prerequisite courses as the gun handling and aggressive nature of this class is unforgiving.  If you are ready to take your skills beyond the training of 99% of all Law Enforcement personnel in Colorado, and if you are ready to be part of a team that is committed to preventing and ending active shooter scenarios in your church, school, or workplace, then this is the class for you.  Class size must be at least ten and we will cap the class at 20 students.  Class begins promptly at 8am, please be here and ready to go a few minutes before to get the most out of your class. 

ATC--ADVANCED TACTICAL COURSES--FOR CSS ALUMNI ONLY
(Completion of Concealed Carry Tactical Pistol Required)

Vehicle Gun Fighting

This 4 hour course covers safety, mindset, how to prepare your vehicle for emergency situations, and discussion of Colorado Statutes that apply to guns and vehicles.  Also covered are how to engage threats from the front, rear, and lateral aspects as well as how to work with a teammate when engaging multiple threats.  Class will begin at 5pm. 

Low Light/Night Fighting

This four hour course covers safety, mindset, flashlight selection, and the tactical use of tritium night sights.  Also covered are the use of handheld tactical lights and weapon-mounted lights, legal aspects of self-defense in low-light/night fighting, and the integration of weapons and tactical illumination.  Class will begin at 5pm, double check with shop before your class as we may have to move the start time back to dusk.   

Introduction to Knife Fighting

This 4 hour course covers safety, mindset, Knife selection, timing and disarming a knife-wielding attacker, defensive and offensive knife grip, anatomy and physiology associated with knife wounds, and transitions from knife to firearm defense.  Class will begin at 5pm. 

Skills Refresher Course

This is a course to reinforce and refresh the fundamentals.  This is a great course for those who have limited access to a range to practice, or just need someone to fine tune their shooting skills.
