AKLB™ FAQ

How much does an AK Lightning Bolt™ cost?
The retail price for the complete AKLB is $250.
Where can I buy my AK Lightning Bolt™?
We manufacture and sell the AKLB here at Colorado Shooting Sports. Call us, stop by the store, or click here to visit our online store. Tactical Response is another authorized dealer.
Will the AKLB™ degrade my accuracy?
No. Once the bolt locks up the bolt carrier is just along for the ride and does not affect the function of the rifle or round at that point.
Can I use a left side folding stock or a left side scope mount and the AK Lightning Bolt™ at the same time?
That will depend on the rifle, stock, and scope mount. Most of the time it will not allow you to use the stock folding option or utilize a left side scope mount.
Will my rounds still eject from the right side?
The rounds still eject from the right side of the gun. The only thing different is the orientation of the charging handle.
Will the new top cover pop off when shooting since the left side was made with an area for the cocking handle to move in?
No. The top cover will not pop off while shooting. All the contact points that are critical are the same on our top cover as they are on stock covers.
Will it make me the envy of my friends and increase my cool guy factor?
Why yes it will.
Do I need to change sprints or anything on the gun to make it work?
No, simply remove your top cover, remove your return sprint and bolt/bolt carrier. Place your bolt in the new bolt carrier. Replace the assembly along with the return spring. Put on the new cover and you are ready to begin your new life as a southpaw.
Will I need to headspace the gun?
No. The gun is headspaced off the bolt not the bolt carrier. Just put it in and it will work. Because of the new high temperature coating on the bolt carrier it may take 30-60 rounds to make sure all the parts mate for smooth operation.
I am working overseas. Can you ship the AK Lightning Bolt™ to me?
Yes we can ship anywhere UPS and USPS will ship. It is not a gun, but a gun part so you should be fine.
I have a 5.56 NATO AK. Can I use an AK-74 AK Lightning Bolt™?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. You would need to send in your top cover and bolt carrier. We produce a limited amount of 5.56 AKLBs so it is fastest if you send yours in.
